Who we are
GenX Battery (“GenX,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is an Indian manufacturer of UAV battery systems — high energy-density lithium-ion, LiPo and solid-state packs engineered for defence, agriculture, surveillance and industrial drone operations. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through genxbattery.com, our RFQ and OEM procurement workflows, and direct communications with our sales and engineering teams.
GenX is a Made-in-India brand. We are BIS certified, ISO 9001 approved and NDAA compliant — and we apply the same engineering rigor to how we handle your data as we do to how we build batteries.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers personal and business information collected when you:
- Browse the GenX website and product catalog
- Submit a Request for Quote (RFQ), bulk quote or fleet quote
- Open an OEM or B2B procurement account
- Request datasheets, discharge reports, connector drawings, UN 38.3 reports, user manuals or warranty terms
- Book an engineering review or “Talk to Engineer” session
- Contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp or web form
- Place a paid order with GST invoicing
- Apply for a job or partnership opportunity
It does not cover third-party websites that link to or from GenX. Those have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.
Information we collect
We try to collect only what we genuinely need to serve B2B and OEM buyers. The categories below reflect the actual fields used across our forms.
Business and contact information
Your name, business email, phone or WhatsApp number, company name, designation, GSTIN, billing and shipping address, and country.
Procurement and technical information
Drone platform or application (agriculture, mapping, surveillance, defence, heavy lift, etc.), required voltage / capacity / chemistry / connector, quantity, target delivery timeline, and any custom pack or engineering specifications you share for review.
Account information
If you create an OEM or B2B account: login credentials, account preferences, saved shipping addresses, repeat-order history and authorized buyer contacts within your organization.
Transaction information
Order details, GST invoice records, payment references and statuses, courier and dispatch records. We do not store full payment card numbers — payments are processed by PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways.
Communications
Emails, chat messages, support tickets, recordings or notes from engineering review calls, and any documents you upload for review.
Technical and usage information
IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL and approximate location derived from IP. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 09).
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as biometric, health or financial information beyond what is strictly required to process a B2B transaction.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to RFQs with commercial and engineering review
- Discuss connector, harness, charger and pack fitment before order confirmation
- Confirm pricing, GST invoice readiness and dispatch timeline
- Process orders, payments and deliveries
- Provide datasheets, certifications and compliance documentation requested by your procurement or technical team
- Operate and secure OEM and B2B procurement accounts
- Provide after-sales service, warranty support and replacements
- Comply with Indian tax law, export-control rules and NDAA / defence procurement requirements where applicable
- Improve our website, catalog and procurement workflows
- Send you transactional communications about your orders, and — only with your consent — occasional updates about new products, certifications or events
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse or unauthorized access
Legal basis for processing
Where Indian data protection law (the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), the EU GDPR, or comparable legislation applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Performance of a contract— to process your RFQ, fulfil orders and provide warranty support.
- Legitimate business interest— to operate, secure and improve our procurement workflows and respond to B2B enquiries.
- Legal obligation— for GST invoicing, tax filings, defence and export compliance records, and statutory retention periods.
- Consent— for non-transactional marketing communications and certain optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as it serves a clear purpose:
- RFQ and quote records— typically retained for up to 3 years to support repeat procurement, fleet planning and historical reference for OEM buyers.
- Order, invoice and GST records— retained for the period required under Indian tax and company law (currently 8 years).
- Account information— retained for the life of your B2B account, plus a reasonable archive period after closure.
- Communications and engineering review notes— retained as needed for warranty, after-sales support and dispute resolution.
- Website analytics data— typically retained for 26 months or less in aggregated form.
When data is no longer needed for any of the above, we delete or anonymize it.
Data security
We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest for sensitive fields
- Role-based access control for sales, engineering and procurement teams
- Multi-factor authentication on internal systems
- Regular access reviews, vulnerability scanning and patching
- Secure handling of documents shared during engineering review and OEM evaluation
- Vendor due diligence before onboarding third-party processors
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a personal data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in line with applicable law.
Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you (including the DPDP Act 2023 in India and the GDPR in the EU/UK), you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or outdated information
- Request deletion of your data where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of incapacity (DPDP Act)
To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer (Section 14). We aim to acknowledge requests within 7 working days and resolve them within 30 days, in line with the DPDP Act 2023.
International data transfers
GenX is headquartered in India and our primary servers and operations are India-based. Where data is processed by service providers located outside India (for example, certain cloud or email providers), we ensure equivalent protection through contractual safeguards and only transfer data to jurisdictions permitted under the DPDP Act and other applicable laws.
Children's privacy
GenX products and services are intended for businesses, government buyers and professional operators. The site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact our Grievance Officer and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our products or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through your B2B account. Continued use of GenX websites and services after the update means you accept the revised policy.
